No two people learn the same way; we all have different learning styles. With that should come personalized ways of teaching.

Learning Disabilities Association of Colorado wanted to make a video that advocates for those who learn differently.

With the help of Phillipe Ernewein from Denver Academy they set out to create a video that would help teachers learn these best practices; they would rewrite how we teach and how we can all learn.

My dad has, and remains, one of the biggest influences in my life.

He has run Sawaya Fleet Services for more than 25 years. Growing up and watching him run the business was a crash course in being a business owner.

So when I started Mainstream Video Production, he was one of the first individuals I talked with.

Business is never easy. But as you progress, you find things that make doing business a little more manageable.

I had joined the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and began to meet some great people and get some great leads.

I met Stephen Brunston of Colorado Insurance Professionals, Inc. at a mixer event. He’d done some video by himself, but had struggled with putting together a message he wanted to get across at the quality he desired.

There is always that moment as a new business owner where things don’t go as planned.

For me, that came immediately.

As my first effort into my new business I had set up a booth at a large youth lacrosse tournament. The idea was parents would swoon over buying videos of highlights of their kids, I would make a bunch of money and my business would be off to a roaring start.

The not so big secret about starting your own business is this: it’s terrifying, horrifying, frustrating, rewarding and completely life changing.

When I started Mainstream I wasn’t sure where to begin. I called on several friends to start to establish ideas of where to take my business. It eventually led me to Brent’s Place, a safe haven for children recovering from cancer.

The truth is video is a lot of work, can be fairly expensive, and is usually not an urgent matter. As someone who sells video those factors make my job difficult, but the truth is video is massively efficient and can save a lot of time and money, through making your communication processes more efficient.

Here are 3 reasons to use video.

Most people become quickly overwhelmed at the idea of producing their own video. If you engage a production company, the price is usually the source of the overwhelm. If you try and do it yourself, its the pieces and parts that go into creating a video.

Below are 6 simple (though not easy) steps to help you familiarize yourself with the production process.

How many characters in stories grapple with the question of who they are vs. who they want to be? This is an intoxicating theme and the reason we see it played across in so many characters in stories.  Maybe it’s not happening on the first of the year as a New Year’s resolution, or maybe it is. The point is we all identify at some point with the idea of wanting to be better versions of ourselves.
