19 Sep Behind the Stream: Video Ingredients
If you’ve got a phone and a social media account, you already have access to more tools for creating broadcast-quality video than it takes to bake a cake. But just because we can bake a cake doesn’t mean we don’t value having the pros step in when it really counts. And when you don’t have an unlimited budget for professionally made cakes, learning how to whip one up yourself can be a game changer.
This is a metaphor for video production (obviously). Last week, we shared how Michele Ashby with Ace Consulting ensures her message gets out there, no matter the circumstances. In this week’s Behind the Stream, we dive deeper into the smart production choices she made for her latest video—a personal meet-and-greet designed to connect with her website visitors. See how Michelle leveraged DIY with professional touches to elevate her brand presence.
Beth: So we’re talking case studies today! ACE Consulting is one of our favorite clients– best clients. All of our clients are our favorite and best, but they just recently created a video with us where we did very very little and I think the little that we did made a big impact in terms of what was made possible for her to do instead of editing.
Beth: So she shot a video– we talked about her purpose in last week’s video; Mainstream’s Behind the Stream. This week we’re gonna talk about kind of what went into the production of it. Created a video for people coming to the website, getting a chance to meet her. She filmed it so she gave us the video and then she hired us because she understood the value of saving the time of editing. She wanted it cleaned up. Did a little bit of editing didn’t you?
Steph: We did the open and close graphic. We basically just trimmed out some ums and pauses and things yeah.
Erica: And what a great opportunity when you have a relationship with like a company like ours to be able to reach out when you need it. Do you need the full service? In this case, no. So you know we’ve got that relationship; We’re happy to work with you; We’re happy to you know be of service, and you know what a great way to continue the relationship forward too. To always be there for what you need.
Beth: Video is an amazing medium, it doesn’t replace face-to-face connection, so it will get you more face-to-face connections, it’s going to hopefully move your connections further along, but it doesn’t replace those. Happy that we love to take people’s footage and actually create videos from footage because that’s gonna get you a video, that’s gonna increase your brand engagement. All of the things that video does for you. So wherever we can help in that process we wanna help.
