27 Mar Behind The Stream: The Fear Of Wasting Resources Is Real…
Every business wrestles with this question: Is video worth it right now?
With so many marketing options available, the question isn’t just “Should I use video?”– it’s “Is this the right investment right now?” Let’s be honest, no one wants to spend money on something they could do themselves.
As you know, we don’t just talk about video strategy; we test it out ourselves first.
This week, we’re sharing an awareness video from our ad campaign for the Video Marketing 101 Course. The goal of this video isn’t to sell the course– it’s to identify potential interest. How do we do that? By tracking who watches 50% or more of the video.
Since this video is on social, we want to respect the scroll. That’s why we’ve gone all-in on captions—because if the cool kids are doing it, why shouldn’t we?
Check it out and let us know what you think!
Remember, strategy isn’t just about what you say, but how you show up.
Beth: The fear of wasting resources and paying to do something that you can easily do is a real thing in business. Every dollar counts. Every time there’s a million things that you can spend money on and invest in in business. And it’s not really is this worth it or not. Is it worth it over this other thing right now?
And video is no different than any other type of marketing effort or investment that you can make in your business. If you’re indecisive about it and you have this fear of wasting your time wasting your money on videos when you could have done it yourself or maybe your marketing person could do these TikTok videos really easily, but you’re also concerned about the quality and is it on brand, the messaging, all of that is going to be solved through education– by understanding what the video production process entails.
So it’s really about understanding what it is you’re trying to do, where the message is gonna go, how it’s going to be used, knowing enough about video production, knowing enough about the process to know when you can get away with Zoom footage, when you can get away with B -roll on your iPhone, and when you wanna hire a person and that only comes through educating yourself on the process and knowing the entirety of what it takes to put together an awesome video that actually converts and works in your marketing strategy.
