13 Jun Behind the Stream: Our Latest Shoot
Ever wondered what goes into making impactful videos? In our latest shoot, we dove deep into strategic setup to create content that truly shines, behind the scenes to reveal the thought process behind every shot; we crafted an environment that enhances our storytelling.
But it wasn’t just about the aesthetics. We strategically planned our shoot to maximize efficiency. Curious about the creative process and what makes this shoot different? Tune in to this week’s #BehindTheStream’ where we spill all the details!
(Beth:) We’re gonna talk about some clients and the work we did for them, how it made an impact on their business, and how we, uh, did a great job at what we do, which is video production. But first, let’s set the scene for where we are at and what we got going here, and why we set the shot up this way.
I’m actually going off-book outta the gate. I threw these gals for a loop. Okay. So we did a shoot last time that we didn’t love as much because of…
(Steph:) A lot of things.
(Beth:) …stuff and things. Today, we were really strategic. We came in super early so that we could get the best spot in our office. We’ve got this wooden thing here, which I like because I think it has dimension and it’s timeless. It’s like a nature-type-looking thing, so it’s not super contemporary or something that’ll date easily, combined with some plants, which greenery. Those are kind of my things. And then the space is just nice. Um, that was really it for my contribution to the shot. Then these gals came in and set it up. How did we get everything else set here today and what are we planning to do?
(Steph:) Well, we were looking very specifically for a, this kind of vibe where we can
(Beth & Steph:) chat.
(Steph:) Yep. Over a table and coffee and you know, don’t mind the cameras and the microphones.
(Beth:) They’re not even here.
(Steph:) We’re just having Yeah– we’re just having a chat. We also have never shot in this area of our office and there’s a lot of great color here. And we’ve got this…
(Beth & Steph:) Window
(Steph:) That looks down to the atrium and we’ve got this nice couch and like coffee shop vibe
(Beth:) And we’re gonna shoot a batch of content so that way we don’t have to do this every week.
(Steph:) Yep.
(Beth:) We get a lot done at once.
(Steph:) Yep.
(Beth:) I mean, Erica, you actually set up— Stephenie and I are talking a lot of game!
(Steph:) Which is fine.
(Beth:) Having done actually very little of the actual setup.
(Erica:) It’s true.
(Steph:) I literally sat here while Erica set everything up Drinking coffee.
(Erica:) It was all by myself!
(Beth:) And we were like talking about other stuff and Erica’s like building lights and actual, we’re like, here’s what we did!
(Steph:) I usually do try to help with that kind of stuff, but I did not this morning at all.
(Erica:) No, but this, this was really a collaboration because it is a small, tight space.
(Beth:) Yeah.
(Erica:) And so it took some finagling to kind of see where two cameras could go that have good backgrounds ish on both shots.
(Beth:) Yep. That’s the kicker.
(Erica:) To give the depth. Right. ’cause we wanted, you know, some blurriness and some nice depth of field for you.
(Beth:) Mm-Hmm.
(Erica:) Um, for us, we wanted to be able to see a little bit wider of what was going on and so yeah, we, we played around a little while this morning with trying figure out where it is.
(Beth:) And that’s why we like to batch because once with that’s set up now we’ve got great content that we can keep putting out.
